LEXICAL OBSERVATIONS ON THE QATABANIC TERMS BRR AND GDR AND SEMITIC PARALLELS

Abstract

The subject of this article is the lexical analysis of the two Qatabanic terms brr and gdr. A new interpretation is provided on the base of Ancient South Arabian and other Semitic sources. It is suggested that the term brr means «to perforate a stone surface» and the term gdr «a walled enclosure».
