Seduction and MaieuticsThe compendium of Greek literature by Guido Paduano is analysedthrough the eye and experience of a high school teacher, who underlinesits uniqueness and appeal. Maria Cristina Bolla not only underlines the“structural” quality of the book (the wide range of texts, the consistentpresence of the original in Greek, the quality and homogeneity oftranslations) but she also enlightens the relationship and closeness ofthe author to the classical text given by a combination of passion andmethod, rigour and emotion, exemplified by different examples fromthe rich introductions to the texts.
